On 14 October 1863 the Court Circular announced that the previous day The Princess of Wales, the Princess Christian of Denmark [her mother, later Queen Louise of Denmark] and Princess Dagmar [her sister, later Empress of Russia] honoured the Messrs. Southwell, in Baker-street, with a visit, and sat for their photographs. This appears to be one of the set taken on this occasion (The Morning Post [London, England] issue 28026, 14 October 1863; pg. 5).
